The Association des Musiciens pour la pérennité de l’héritage musical de Sergiu Celibidache (Association of Musicians for the Maintenance of the Musical Heritage of Sergiu Celibidache) was founded in March 1999 by a group of musicians who have received formative impression by the personality, the teaching, and the work of this extraordinary artist.

Sergiu Celibidache was refusing every kind of media circus about himself. With clear consciousness about the impossibility to conserve what is substantially transient, he also was reluctant to fix his teaching in any written form, since his experience had convinced him that the essential could only be imparted through vivid practice of music and the situation-related example.

To support the imparting of this teaching in the most favourable conditions, the Association closely cooperates with Konrad von Abel, who was Celibidache’s artistical and pedagogical assistant at the Münchner Philharmoniker from 1986 to 1996, as well as with the conductor’s son, Serge Ioan Celebidachi.

The Association Celibidache International Music Academy is a reception center for advanced musical teachings and deepened training.Theoretical and practical courses are offered to French and foreign trainees. These activities are managed by the Association of musicians for the cultivation of the musical legacy of Sergiu Celibidache.
